PhD Candidate – Complex Matter & Nonlinear Physics
Welcome to my webpage! I am Amit Dawadi, a PhD student in physics at Clark University. I am working in the Nonlinear Physics Laboratory led by Prof. Arshad Kudrolli. My research focuses on understanding complex matter where structure, geometry, and mechanics lead to emergent behaviors. This includes crumpling phenomena in thin sheets, twisting and bundling of elastic filaments, the mechanical response of soft and structured materials, as well as the intriguing self-propulsion of floating ice blocks driven by melting processes. As a passionate researcher and an APS Student Ambassador, I am equally committed to both cutting-edge physics research and scientific outreach to broader audiences.
